The 4th generation of Larivée’s ready to take over

Hector Larivée is celebrating 77 years of business, and it is already time to prepare the fourth generation, who are headed for the horizon, to take on the numerous challenges of the family business. We present to you the descendants of the three shareholders as well as their visions.

JESSICA LARIVÉE

Jessica Larivée is the representative for major accounts at Hector Larivée. Working in close collaboration with the director of sales, she is responsible of developing business and contracts with chains. On top of participating in the rebranding and remodeling of the entire website, she oversees the project of updating the B2B online ordering platform. The president’s daughter’s short term vision is that the company must adapt to technological advances and new market practices in hopes of safeguarding their title as the leader in food service. Medium term she hopes that the Hector Larivée business will maintain its capacity to mould to the needs of their clients, and above all, she strives to increase their market share in pre-cut and ready-to-eat products.

“Our company has good values. I hope to succeed in doing things as well as my father. I would love to celebrate Hector Larivée’s 100 year anniversary with its fifth generation”, declares Jessica.

MARC-ANDRÉ LARIVÉE

General manager of Tomapure, sister company to Hector Larivée, Marc-André Larivée’s mission is to manage the services of the organization’s whole. Short term, the 30 year old plans to develop a plan of action for the sale of products developed by Tomapure for retail businesses. He also plans to expand exportation, particularly to the Eastern coast of the United States and in Ontario. Son of Daniel Larivée, the president of Tomapure, Marc-André is counting on the food transformation service that treats all pre-cut fruits and vegetables (for which demand is very high) to expand the business into new markets. In the long term, he aims to create more ready-to-eat products in a grab and go style as well as expand their production abilities in industrial cooking.

There is this openness among our fathers when it comes to the ideas of the younger generation because the possibilities truly are endless”, outlines Marc-André.

LOUIS-CHARLES LARIVÉE

Working in the sales sector, Louis-Charles Larivée wants to pursue the development of services offered at Hector Larivée. Short term, the young 31 year old believes that the company should focus on the development of technological components and online tools, meaning everything to do with social media, communication, and marketing. Long term Louis Charles, the son of Michel Larivée, vice president of the company, would like to introduce new lines of exclusive products.

“If everything goes well, within the next ten years, my children who are four and six years old today will also work in the family business while they’re in school. That would be the beginning of the fifth generation”, he hopes.

The Larivée family is also counting on three other young adults who demonstrate a great deal of interest in taking up the family business. As a matter of fact, Maude, Kevin and Alexandra Larivée, who are currently still in their studies and work during the summer in both companies, are very enthusiastic about the idea of collaborating with the family’s fourth generation and pursuing the dream of the founders and their parents.
